Currently, Karelian Research Centre of RAS uses the following structure for managing international cooperation:
Coordination of integrated international programmes and projects is performed by the governing body of the Centre. The Assistant President for Foreign Contacts and Foreign Relations officer are in charge of scientific contacts and R&D co-operation of the Centre with foreign organisations, technical maintenance of integrated international projects and general analysis of international activities of the Centre. If necessary, they also provide methodological assistance to the Institutes in carrying out international cooperation.
International cooperation in the Institutes of the KarRC of RAS is coordinated by their Directors. Analytical work is conducted by the Secretaries for Science and Assistant Directors for Foreign Contacts. Almost all of the Institutes have people in charge of international activities who provide technical support for cooperation.
Thus, international cooperation activities in the Centre are largely under the supervision of its institutions: the Institutes autonomously implement projects in their respective areas, while the governing body of the Centre coordinates integrated projects.
